MEET THE DOCTOR

DR. SHALINI KAPOOR, M.D., C.M. ("DR. SHALINI", also known as Shalini Kapoor-Grover or Shalini K. Grover) is an award-winning published research scholar, medical doctor and surgeon, expert laser specialist and cosmetic/aesthetics consultant who graduated from the McGill University School of Medicine, a world-renowned Ivy League Institution, with Honours ("Faculty/University Scholar" standing).

She is a prominent and skilled, Board Certified Eye and Multidisciplinary Laser Surgeon specializing in Laser Refractive Surgery (LASIK), Aesthetic Laser Surgery for total Facial and Body Rejuvenation as well as Facial Aesthetics and advanced injectable and shaping procedures including BOTOX and Fillers (such as Restylane and Juvederm). Dr. Shalini is also certified and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and of the American Academy and Board of Ophthalmology.

Active in research (even through medical school and residency), Dr. Kapoor has published many scientific papers throughout the world, presented her findings nationally and internationally, and has won numerous awards for her work. She also has collaborated on the International (USA, Japan, Germany) "BIONIC EYE" Project (with Dr.'s Ignatiev, Garcia, Humayun, Palankar) in partnership with NASA in Houston where she co-wrote and got a national research grant approved for the development of Thin Film Optical Detectors (TFOD's) for implantation into the retina with the hope to help legally blind patients regain useful vision. She was also actively involved as one of the clinical coordinators in the National Protein Kinase C Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Trials as well as in the Drusen and Photodynamic (Poryphyrin) Therapy Studies for Age Related Macular Degeneration. She is currently actively involved in National Clinical Trials testing intraocular injections of medication to treat Diabetic Macular Edema as well as the sequelae of Macular Degeneration. Clinical and Scientific Research will always continues to be one of Dr. Shalini's top priorities and passions.

Also featured extensively in the media after publishing her research work on the "Shaken Baby Syndrome", as well as having discovered a variation in the gene for childhood Tay Sach's Disease, Shalini has always had an immense passion for children and has worked with many charitable organizations working towards the prevention of child abuse. She hopes to continue her work helping children in various capacities including direct care at Children's Hospitals, Make-a-Wish Foundation and "Save The Children" helping sick, poor and orphaned children worldwide.

Dr. Kapoor, a member of the National Association of Medical Communicators (NAMC) [previously the National Association of Physician Broadcasters (NAPB)] has also had considerable experience as a Lecturer, Consultant and Medical Television Show Host, and has made numerous media appearances. She is also currently in development on a new TV Show focused on bringing cutting edge health topics to the forefront in an exciting entertainment-based format. She is also developing her new Anti-Aging "Dr. Shalini MD" Skin Care line using European and Ayurvedic based ingredients for the prevention of premature aging.

Dr. Shalini M.D. is also the first doctor in the world to have and offer to patients a new revolutionary technology to treat deep wrinkles and wrinkles around the eye called the Matrix IR. Dr Shalini won an International Award for "Merit and Distinction in Aesthetic Medicine" on a recent overseas trip to several countries in East Asia where she lectured and gave several advanced workshops to doctors on the Matrix IR Fractional Wrinkle Reduction Technology. She hopes to continue her international tour to further educate doctors and the public all over the world on this revolutionary technology and on current cutting edge and state-of-the art techniques available for facial and body rejuvenation.
